Kathrin Blacha (born October 23, 1970 in Marbach am Neckar ) is a former German handball player .

Career

The 1.69 m tall circle player started playing handball at TSV Benningen at the age of eight . Via TV Kornwestheim and VfL Neckargartach, she came to the then Bundesliga club TV Lützellinden in 1992 . After four years with Mittelhessen, she joined Bayer Leverkusen , where she was under contract for seven years. In 2003 she moved to 1. FC Nürnberg Handball . In 2007 she joined the Thuringian HC , where she ended her career in summer 2008.

Kathrin Blacha made 222 international appearances for Germany and scored 435 goals. In 2003 and 2004 she was voted handball woman of the year in Germany.

As the successor to Rainer Osmann , Blacha took over as coach of the junior national team of the DHB together with Andreas Schwabe in 2009 . From February 10, 2012, Kathrin Blacha was the trainer of the women's team at HG Zirndorf in Middle Franconia, which played in the regional league. At the end of the 2011/12 season, the first women's team with Kathrin Blacha made it directly to the Bayern League. After one and a half years of work in Zirndorf, she had to resign from the coaching position for professional reasons.
