Kathryn Stone (born October 26, 1988 in Edmonton ) is a Canadian biathlete .

Kathryn Stone grew up in Grande Prairie . Her older brother introduced her to sports. In addition to cross-country skiing, she tried many other sports, from hurdles to marathons . She studied cell and molecular biology at Augustana University College , graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 2006/07 she started for the Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves , 2007 to 2009 for the Alberta All Conference , 2009 to 2011 for the Alberta Biathlon Provincial Team and the Augustana Vikings and since 2011 for Wapiti Nordic . The first major event was the North American Championships in Summer Biathlon 2008 in Canmore , where Stone was 12th in the individual on rollerskiing and behind Tana Chesham won the silver medal in the junior sprint. In the cross-country competitions she was second in the pursuit behind Annik Levesque . In the Winter Universiade 2009 was Stone best Canadian and was in the year athlete of the year of their university. In the 2009/10 season she won the overall ranking of the Canadian racing series Calforex Cup . In addition, she was fifth in the individual and sixth over the freestyle middle distance in cross-country skiing at the Canadian Championships . In the further course of the year Stone won the silver medal behind Claude Godbout at the North American Championships in the summer biathlon 2010 in Canmore and was seventh in the pursuit. The first notable successes in the Biathlon-NorAm-Cup came in the 2010/11 season . At the opening races in Canmore she finished second behind Betsy Mawdsley in the sprint and third in the pursuit behind Karen Messenger and Mawdsley. She was ninth in the overall standings. At the North American Invitational 2012 in Jericho , Stone finished fifth in the sprint and pursuit and third behind Hannah Dreissigacker and Katrina Howe in the mass start race. In 2011 she competed in her first IBU Cup races in Canmore and was 32nd in her first sprint and also won points in the following three races.
