Kathy Rinaldi Stunkel (born March 24, 1967 in Stuart , Florida ) is a former American tennis player . She has been Team Principal of the United States' Fed Cup team since 2017 .
Career
She became a professional tennis player in 1981 and won her first professional tournament in Kyoto at the age of 14 years, 6 months and 24 days. She is the second youngest player in tennis history after Tracy Austin to have achieved such a success.
In her career she reached the semifinals of all Grand Slam tournaments , where she was able to defeat players like Steffi Graf , Jana Novotná and Pam Shriver . The final breakthrough did not materialize, however. On the WTA Tour she achieved a total of three tournament wins in singles and two successes in doubles.
In September 1997, Kathy Rinaldi ended her tennis career.
