Katrin Weber (born January 15, 1963 in Plauen ) is a German singer , musical artist , actress and cabaret artist .
Live and act
Katrin Weber learned the trade of a seamstress and passed her Abitur . In 1981 she began studying singing at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden , which she completed in 1987.
After that, Katrin Weber first appeared as a musical actress and played title roles such as Evita in Evita , Eliza in My Fair Lady , Sally in Cabaret , Maria Magdalena in Jesus Christ Superstar , Charity in Sweet Charity , Annie in Annie Get Your Gun (musical) and Anita in the West Side Story . In 1989 she played the leading female role in the world premiere of the musical Jack the Ripper by Günther Fischer . From 1988 to 1997 she was engaged at the Altenburg-Gera Theater. Since 1995 she has been a member of the musical company "Musical Night". In 1991 she received the Franz Grothe Prize at the National Singing Competition in Berlin .
From around the beginning of the 1990s, Katrin Weber began to focus more on acting and cabaret. She became known to a wide audience through the play Black Eyes - A Night in the Russenpuff , in which she has played on German stages since 1999 with Tom Pauls and Detlef Rothe . With Tom Pauls she also went on tour with the piece Tom and Chérie . From 2004 she was with Bernd-Lutz Lange with the program That will never be on the road. On her solo programs she is usually accompanied by the pianist Rainer Vothel and his band.
Katrin Weber first appeared on television in the GDR , for example in a duet with Gunther Emmerlich on his show Showkolade . After the reunification , she continued her appearances, especially in the MDR .
