Detlef Rothe (* 1954 in Dessau ) is a German cabaret artist , musician and artistic director .

Life

Rothe passed his Abitur in 1972 in Halle (Saale) . As a schoolboy, he performed as a pianist and cabaret artist in amateur cabaret at the clubhouse of the trade unions and a band in Halle from 1968. From 1972 to 1974 he served eighteen months in the People's National Army . One year of that he was in an army singing club in Berlin .

Between 1974 and 1979 Rothe studied mathematics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and obtained a degree in maths. From 1979 he worked as a programmer in the data processing center in Halle-Neustadt , where he was dismissed in December 1983 for political reasons.

From August 1984 to 1991 Rothe was musical director of the Herkuleskeule, for which he moved to Dresden in 1986 . Between 1991 and 2006 Rothe worked as a freelance cabaret artist and musician in the cabaret ANTRAK on STUMPHsinn with Wolfgang Stumph and Gunter Antrak. During this time he also appeared as an actor on television ( Salto Postale , Salto Kommunale and other broadcasts) and in 1993 in the movie Go Trabi Go 2 - That was the wild east . In addition, he wrote compositions and arrangements for several television productions.

Rothe created compositions, arrangements and musical rehearsals for various theater plays and programs in Dresden. For example, for the world premiere A German Child by Georg Kreisler and Edith Piaf : I have no regrets with Kati Grasse . Since 1999 Rothe has performed the program Black Eyes - A Night in the Russenpuff with Katrin Weber and Tom Pauls .

In 2000 Rothe received his first engagement as a musician, actor and composer at the Theaterkahn Dresden in the Joachim Ringelnatz program with Friedrich-Wilhelm Junge . Rothe has been artistic director and managing director of the Theaterkahn since early 2005. He will hand over the position to Holger Böhme in 2017 . There he was seen in various programs, among others with Peter Bause , Lars Jung and Peter Kube .

Rothe has been married since 1978 and has a daughter and two sons.
