Salto Postale is a sitcom of the ZDF high name recognition. Wolfgang Stumph , Achim Wolff and Hans-Jürgen Schatz played the leading roles . The series is one of the few German sitcoms that are successfully repeated.
action
The series plays with Wolfgang Stumph in the lead role of a post office clerk in the fictional village of Niederbörnicke in Brandenburg shortly after the fall of the Wall . The colleagues at the office are the postal workers Wolfgang "Wolle" Stankoweit and Rudi Reschke ( Achim Wolff ), the head of the office is Maximilian Mäßig ( Hans-Jürgen Schatz ) from West Germany . The three officers form a group with explosives. In addition to selling stamps and accepting parcels, there are also political satirical speeches in Niederbörnicke , inspired by the incidents in the post office. This shows the obstacles to reunification and the problems faced by politicians. An integral part and the telephone inquiries was Stanko Weits with numerous members of the Federal Government , a running gag that the action briefly interrupted.

Stankoweit is the typical employee in a post office, above him is only Mr. Mäßig , who knows everything better with his "Western methods" and with whom he is always in constant dispute. He constantly wants to get a higher salary or better working conditions for himself and his friend Rudi . Stankoweit knows how to hide some criticism behind the words, which the stubborn boss usually does not notice, but the viewer does.

Rudi Reschke is a loser type, he doesn't want to get any further in his job and is often seduced by the charms and the new opportunities after the fall of the Wall, thanks to Stankoweit's control and his perspective, Reschke falls deep now and then, but never really. After all, Reschke is just waiting for his pension, because life is already too much for him beforehand. When Stankoweit takes on politics again, Reschke tries to slow him down, which he never succeeds.

Mr. Mäßig is the prototypical Wessi and head of the Niederbörnicke post office . His methods like neither Stanko wide or Reschke , nor the citizens of Niederbörnicke who wonder about taxes from which they would not have dreamed recently. Moderately wondering about the work ethic of his Eastern colleagues, but also finds himself in distress when it comes to corruption and displacement. After all, he too depends on the help of his subordinates, but gratitude is also a foreign word to him.

The series ended in 1996, but the characters went into the sitcom Salto Kommunale . Mr. Mäßig becomes mayor and Stankoweit and Reschke become employees of the Niederbörnicke community . For the 60th birthday of the main actor Wolfgang Stumph, a three-part series special was broadcast in 2006 under the name Salto Speziale .
