Katrina vanden Heuvel (born October 7, 1959 in New York City ) is an American journalist and editor-in-chief of The Nation, and also owns shares in it. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is a frequent guest in political formats, including television shows on ABC , CNN and Democracy Now . She has written articles that can be read in the New York Times , Washington Post, and other newspapers, and vanden Heuvel has published several books. She is on the Board of Trustees for the Institute for Policy Studies .

biography

Katrina vanden Heuvel is the daughter of William vanden Heuvel and Jean Stein , her parents divorced when she was ten years old. She grew up in New York City. She is an alumna of Princeton University , graduating summa cum laude in 1981 .

Katrina vanden Heuvel is married to Stephen F. Cohen .

Career

Katrina vanden Heuvel was in 1995 a year for The Nation as "acting editor" (dt about. Acting Editor ) worked when she the magazine with a group of investors to Victor Navasky acquired. She then replaced Navasky as editor-in-chief. She had previously been Editor-at-Large for coverage of the Soviet Union .

Between 2006 and 2012, vanden published Heuvel in the Huffington Post , and since 1996 she has published a weekly column in the Washington Post .
