Katsuhito Ebisawa ( Japanese 蛯 澤 克 仁 , Ebisawa Katsuhito ; born July 11, 1972 in Tōhoku ) is a former Japanese cross-country skier .

Career

Ebisawa studied at Chūō University and then joined the construction company Kawada Kōgyō and their ski team.

Ebisawa took part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski until 2009 . He ran his first World Cup race in December 1994 in Tauplitzalm , which he finished classically in 84th place over 15 km. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1995 in Thunder Bay , he reached 61st place over 10 km classic, 47th place over 30 km classic and 45th place in the 25 km pursuit race. In February 1996 in Reit im Winkl he achieved ninth place in the sprint, his best place in a World Cup race. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim in 1997 he came in 22nd place over 10 km classic, 21st place in the 25 km pursuit race and 15th place over 50 km classic. His best placings at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano were 21st place in the 25 km pursuit race and seventh place with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau in 1999 , he finished 52nd place over 10 km classic, 51st place in the 25 km pursuit race and 50th place over 50 km classic. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2001 in Lahti , he achieved 49th place in the 20 km pursuit race, 35th place over 30 km classic and 33rd place over 50 km freestyle. In the same year he became the Japanese champion in the 30 km freestyle. His best results at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City were 38th place over 50 km classic and 12th place with the relay. In February 2003 he won gold with the relay at the Winter Asian Games . His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme were 18th place in the 30 km mass start race and ninth place in the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 2005 , he reached 56th place in the sprint, 21st place in the 50 km mass start race and 14th place with the relay. At his last Olympic participation in 2006 in Pragelato , the 41st place in the 30 km skiathlon and 12th place in the team sprint were his best results. In February 2007, he won silver with the relay at the Winter Asian Games . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2007 in Sapporo , he won 46th place in the skiathlon, 24th place in the 50 km mass start race and 14th place with the relay.
