The Katzenberg is 592  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the lower Mühlviertel . It is located near Tragwein in the Freistadt district in Upper Austria .

geography

The summit of the partly forested Katzenstein lies 20 km east of the state capital Linz and 2 km north of the Tragweiner core town. In the east, beyond the Pernbach , is Lugendorf and to the southwest Mistlberg , two districts of Tragwein. To the north is Reichenstein , which belongs to Gutau , Pregarten and Tragwein.

(From Tragwein 490  . M above A. ) a half-hour trail leads to the Katzenberg and on to Mühlviertler Weitwanderweg  510. From the south side, the outlook on the surrounding offers Aist-Naarn - hills and the Danube plain, and to the east of Bad Zell and to the south on the extensive kaolin opencast mine of Allerheiligen in the Mühlkreis ( Kriechbaum ).
