The Technical College Kaunas (lit. Kauno technikos kolegija , KTK ) is a state technical university and college in Kaunas , Lithuania .

history
In 1920 the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport established the Higher Technical School. It was the first Lithuanian technical school. The initiators were engineers Julijonas Gravrogkas (director until 1940), Kazimieras Vasiliauskas , Jonas Kiškinas and others. The school first existed as evening courses with 26 students. In 1921 the Lithuanian government bought a house at A. Mickevičius St. This is how the school was created with 41 students and 9 teachers. In 1925 there was the first line of construction technicians , in 1926 the mechanics and 1929 the electricians . In 1945 the school became the state technical center in Kaunas, then a polytechnic . In 1959 the evening branch was set up in Šiauliai , 1961 in Ežerėlis and 1962 in Elektrėnai . There are 23,800 graduates. In 2013 there were over 200 employees.
