Kay Loeffler

Kay Löffler (* 1958 in Heide (Holstein) as Kay Müller ) is a German author .

Life

After completing his school education, Kay Löffler went into public administration , where he initially completed an administrative education. Later he interrupted his career, carried out other activities and was repeatedly traveling as a globetrotter in many countries around the world. In 1987 he finally returned to Germany. After returning to public administration, he worked as an investigative service manager for the public order office in Cologne - Chorweiler . From 1988 to 1992 he lived in Bergheim - Niederaußem in North Rhine-Westphalia .

In the years 1977 to 1991 he published short stories, poetry , satire and “Telegram prose” under his birth name Müller . a. in the computer magazine c't , in the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger , at the WDR and in several anthologies. In 1999 his debut novel Ermittlungsdienst Chorweiler was published , in which he processed his experience as an investigative service manager at the regulatory office of this Cologne satellite town . His youth novel Dorf der Wolkenmacher , published in 2001, is about a small village that had to be relocated due to an open-cast mine . A youth clique tries with all their might to oppose it and occupies a forest. He was inspired to write this book by the coal-fired power station in Niederaußem, where he lived at the time, and the region's environmental problems .

Löffler is a member of the PEN Center Germany, the Association of German Writers (VS) in ver.di and in the Rhein-Erft group of authors .

Kay Löffler has had his wife's surname since his marriage in 1991 and later lived with his family in Elsdorf in the Rhineland. The couple have since divorced.
