Kayhauserfeld is a district of Bad Zwischenahn in the Lower Saxony district of Ammerland . It borders in the southwest on Ekern , in the west on Kayhausen , in the north on Aschhausen , in the northeast on Westerholtsfelde , in the southeast on Petersfehn II and in the south on Kleefeld . With the exception of Kleefeld, which belongs to the Edewecht community , all of the neighbors are farmers in the Bad Zwischenahn community.

The Großer Engelsmeer nature reserve is located in Kayhauserfeld , a moor lake surrounded by birch trees.

history

Until 1860 Kayhauserfeld belonged together with Kayhausen, to which it was once assigned, to the Zwischenahn farmers . Since the soil consisted mainly of bog areas , settlement began late. In 1825 there were 14 inhabitants, and it was not until 1892 that the first colonies were given to settlers who were supposed to cultivate the moorland . Even today, Kayhauserfeld is sparsely populated away from the relatively few spur roads.

Until 1912 the Kayhauserfeld students attended the school in Kayhausen. Then, due to the increased number of pupils, a school was built in Kayhauserfeld, which was closed at the end of the 1971/72 school year. Since then, the students have been attending the Elmendorf / Aschhausen elementary school north of the Oldenburg – Leer railway line , which runs lengthways through the town . Students south of the railway line attend the elementary school in Petersfehn I.

Business

In recent years, intensive commercial and industrial operations have been settled in Kayhauserfeld. In addition to the local industrial park Kayhauserfeld, there are also the industrial areas Haarenstroth , east of the field line and west of the field line . Further commercial areas are already being planned for the area east of Industriestrasse .

Well-known manufacturing companies based in Kayhauserfeld include the producer of sausage products Rügenwalder Mühle , the eel smokehouse Friedrich Bruns and the manufacturer of sanitary technology Hüppe .
