Kayla Anise Maico Richardson (born April 17, 1998 in Los Angeles ) is an American - Filipino sprinter .

Athletic career

Kayla Anise Richardson gained her first international experience in 2013 when she finished fifth in the 100-meter run at the Asian Youth Games in Nanjing in 12.30 seconds . The following year she took part in the Junior World Championships in Eugene and was eliminated there with 12.03 s and 24.53 s over 100 and 200 meters in the first round. In 2015 she won the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 11.76 s over 100 meters and won the silver medal in the 200-meter run in 23.71 s behind the Singaporean Shanti Pereira . Then she reached the semi-finals at the Youth World Championships in Cali over 200 meters and was eliminated there with 24.41 s. In 2016 she again took part in the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , but failed again in the first round with 11.97 s and 24.29 s.

In 2017 she finished fifth over 200 meters at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in 24.29 s and won the bronze medal behind the teams from Vietnam and Thailand in the Philippine 4 x 100 meter relay in 44.81 s. Two years later she was seventh in the 400-meter run in 57.34 s at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas and won the silver medal behind Thailand in 44.57 s with the relay.
