Shanti Veronica Pereira (born September 20, 1996 in Singapore ) is a Singaporean sprinter .

Athletic career

For the first time Shanti Pereira appeared internationally at the Junior Asian Championships 2012 in Colombo . There she finished fifth over 100 meters in 12.21 s and won the bronze medal in the 200-meter run in 25.09 s . Before that, she took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou and reached the semifinals there in the 60-meter run , but did not start there. In 2013 she took part in the Youth World Championships in Donetsk , where she reached the semi-finals over 100 and 200 meters, where she was eliminated with 11.96 s and 24.76 s respectively. She then reached fourth place in the 100-meter run at the Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw in 11.99 s , as well as over 200 meters in 24.16 s and with the Singaporean 4-by-400-meter relay in 3:44 , 80 min. At the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou in 2014, she finished seventh over 60 meters with a new national record of 7.61 s. Then she won at the Junior Asian Championships in Taipei in 23.99 s the silver medal over 200 meters, in 11.79 s bronze over 100 meters and took fifth place in the Singapore 4 x 100 meter relay in 46.78 s . So she qualified for the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters. In 2015 she won the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 23.60 seconds over 200 meters and won the bronze medal in the 100 meter run in 11.88 seconds behind the Philippine woman Kayla Anise Richardson and Tassaporn Wannakit from Thailand. In addition, she took fourth place with the 4-by-100 and 4-by-400-meter relay. At the World Championships in Beijing she was disqualified over 200 meters with 24.22 s already in advance of. The following year she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters at the Asian Championships in Doha , was eliminated over 200 meters in the first round and finished seventh in the relay in 45.78 s. In July she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters at the Summer Universiade in Naples , where she was eliminated with 11.73 s. At the end of September she retired at the World Championships in Doha with 24.00 s in the first round . In December she then won the bronze medal over 100 meters behind the Vietnamese Lê and Kristina Knott from the Philippines in 11.66 s at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas and she also won bronze over 200 meters behind them in 23.77 s.
