Tassaporn Wannakit (born November 23, 1989 in Bangkok ) is a Thai sprinter who is particularly successful with the Thai 4 x 100 meter relay.

Athletic career

Tassaporn Wannakit gained her first experience in international competitions at the Junior Asian Championships 2008 in Jakarta , where she won the silver medal over 200 meters in 24.43 seconds and the gold medal in the Thai 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.95 seconds. She also took part in the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , where she was eliminated in both disciplines with 24.86 s and 45.99 s in the preliminary round. The following year she took part in the Asian Championships in Guangzhou , where she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters, in which she was eliminated with 24.70 s. In 2010 she was eliminated from the Asian Games with 24.60 s in the preliminary round over 200 meters. Also in 2011 she was eliminated from the Asian Championships in Kobe with 24.89 s in the preliminary round over 200 meters. At the Student World Games in Shenzhen , she finished fifth with the relay in 44.13 s in the final.

In 2013 she won the bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Pune in 44.44 s with the relay behind the teams from China and Japan and took sixth place at the Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia, in 46.66 s. At the Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw she won the bronze medal in the 100-meter run in 11.91 s behind the Vietnamese Thũ Hịng and her compatriot Neeranuch Klomdee . In addition, she won the Thai relay in 44.42 s. The following year she finished eighth over 100 meters at the Asian Games in Incheon in 11.76 seconds and missed a medal in fourth in 44.39 seconds. In 2015 she again won the gold medal in the relay in 44.27 s at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore and she also won the silver medal over 100 meters in 11.76 s behind the Philippine Kayla Anise Richardson and was fifth in the 200 meters in 23.99 s . In her third participation in the Universiade in Gwangju , she won the bronze medal behind Kazakhstan and the United States in 45.03 seconds with the Thai relay, as well as at the Asian Championships in Wuhan in 44.73 seconds behind the teams from China and Japan. In 2017 she was eliminated from the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar, India, over 100 meters with 12.47 s in the semifinals and finished fourth with the relay in 44.74. She then finished sixth over 100 meters at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in 11.90 s and finished seventh over 200 meters in 24.63 s, while she won the silver medal behind Vietnam in 44.62 s with the relay. With the relay she took part in the Student World Games in Taipei again and was eliminated there with 45.60 seconds in advance.

In 2019 she reached fifth place with the relay in 43.99 s at the Asian Championships in Doha and then retired from the World Relays in Yokohama with 44.24 s in the preliminary round. In October she took part in the Military World Games in Wuhan, where she was eliminated in the first round with 12.15 s and 25.10 s over 100 and 200 meters. She then won the season in 44.38 s at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas and won the silver medal behind the Philippines in the mixed 4 x 100 meter relay in 41.99 s.

In 2012 Wannakit became the Thai champion over 100 and 200 meters.
