Kelly Darboven

Kelly Darboven (* 1992 in Hamburg ) is a German actress and radio play speaker .

Among other things, Darboven played the leading role in the radio play Der goldene Kompass des NDR based on the novel of the same name by Philip Pullman, produced in 2004 and first published in 2005 by Jumbo Neue Medien & Verlag . Darboven was selected from several applicants by the NDR. Her partners were among others Hermann Lause and Jürgen Thormann (as narrator). Darboven took on the role of the inquisitive and intelligent 12-year-old girl Lyra Belacqua, who goes to boarding school in Oxford and embarks on a journey into a parallel universe.

  • The culture magazine Perlentaucher quotes a review of the radio play from the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung regarding Darboven's interpretation , in which the literary critic Felicitas von Lovenberg wrote: "Kelly Darboven's lyre is a bit lacking the precociousness of the girl from the novel ...".
  • The daily newspaper DIE WELT wrote: "Kelly Darboven is a phenomenon, who embodies the girl Lyra in a strong and complex way - a rarity among young voices who have not yet completed an acting training."

  • The NDR radio play The golden compass with Darboven, Lause and Thormann received the HÖRkulino children's audio book audience award in 2009 .
