Hermann Lause (born February 7, 1939 in Meppen , Emsland , † March 28, 2005 in Hamburg ) was a German actor .

Life

Hermann Lause was the son of a surveyor. In 1960 he graduated from high school in Meppen . Until 1965 he studied archeology , philosophy and art history in Mainz , Cologne , Heidelberg and Munich .

From 1963 to 1965 Lause took acting lessons from Ellen Mahlke in Munich . He then worked at the Berlin Schiller Theater , where he made his debut on December 13, 1965. From 1968 to 1971 he was engaged in Essen , 1971/72 at the Theater Oberhausen and from September 1972 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . 1977 to 1979 and again 1982 to 1990 he worked at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg . In between, Lause played at the Städtische Bühnen in Cologne from 1979 to 1982, in 1980 and 1984 at the Volksbühne in Berlin and from 1988 to 1990 in Düsseldorf .

Lause acted as a supporting and leading actor in various cinema and television films, for example in Schtonk! and the indoor fountain . He could be seen in Fassbinder's " Berlin Alexanderplatz " as well as in " Campus " and " Gegen die Wand ". He also had guest appearances in various episodes of the series Siska , Derrick , Der Alte , Der Fahnder , Großstadtrevier , Balko and Ein Fall für Zwei . Lause was most recently on stage with an Erich Kästner program in Hamburg.

Lause last lived in an apartment building in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel . He died of severe cancer and was buried in the Ohlsdorf cemetery (V12-347). Lause left a wife and a son.

Since November 2014 there has been a photo wall in the Meppener Theater in memory of Hermann Lause. Among other things, the collage shows recordings of the actor from 1960. In June 2012, the Hermann-Lause-Weg was inaugurated not far from the theater in his native town.

Hermann Lause has worked on over a hundred radio plays . As a narrator for audio books he is among others in Erich Kästner's A Poet gives information , Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas and Peter Ustinov's Die Reisen des Sir Peter .
