Felicitas von Lovenberg (born March 27, 1974 in Münster ) is a German journalist , literary critic , author and publisher .

Life

Lovenberg grew up in the Münsterland . After the eleventh grade, she moved from high school Paulinum to Atlantic College in Wales , which she graduated with the International Baccalaureate . She then studied modern history in Bristol and at St Antony's College , Oxford , where she wrote her thesis on the political orientation of the weekly magazine Simplicissimus during the First World War .

In July 1998 Lovenberg joined the feature section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung ; there she was initially assigned to the “Art Market” department, from July 2001 to the literature department. For two years she was the responsible editor of the FAZ supplement Bilder und Zeiten , since November 2008 she was the first woman responsible for the section “Literature and Literary Life”. In October 2015, she confirmed to Spiegel that she would be leaving the FAZ editorial team by the end of January 2016 at the latest, as she was moving to Munich for private reasons.

Lovenberg publishes primarily as a literary critic . In 2005 she also published the essay Do you fall in love often, rarely get engaged, never get married? - The longing for romantic love , in which it presents a critical view of conventional marriage , marriage of convenience and reason , multiple marriages as well as marriage for three and also prompts a consideration of singles .
