Private life

Wrestling career

Beginnings

Ken Anderson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but attended high school in Two Rivers , Wisconsin . There he tried his hand at athletics and swimming . He also practiced Taekwondo and a special martial art called Escrima , in which he held the regional title for the Midwest in 1997. After his military service, Anderson worked as a security officer in a nuclear power plant and began training as a wrestler at the same time. Eight months later he made his debut as Kamikaze Ken in September 1999 .

In 2000, his career was almost over when doctors found a hole in one of his lungs . After a break, he made his first independent appearances in 2001 on the side shows of the WWE . There were also appearances at TNA , as well as discussions about a possible contract, which however did not result in an agreement.

World Wrestling Entertainment (2005-2009)

Anderson continued to compete on an independent level until 2005 before signing a development contract with the WWE in February of that year. Anderson initially appeared under his real name in the WWE Development League Ohio Valley Wrestling before he made his debut as Ken Kennedy , or Mr. Kennedy in the main show SmackDown on August 25 . Anderson's ring character took on his own announcements, which became his trademark.

Kennedy was the last wrestler to stand in the ring against Eddie Guerrero . He was found dead on November 13, 2005, two days after beating Kennedy on November 11. Kennedy described the incident as an "unfortunate honor". He was also the last wrestler to compete against Umaga . He died in December 2009 of two consecutive heart attacks .

In December 2005, he injured his shoulder and had to take another break. From January 2006 he was seen from time to time at the WWE, but without completing a match. He then made his wrestling comeback on SmackDown in June and started feuding with Matt Hardy and Batista .

On September 1, 2006 he was finally allowed to win the United States title against Bobby Lashley and Finlay . However, he had to give it back to Chris Benoit in October . A feud program against the Undertaker, which was started after losing the title, ended in defeat, but he received an unsuccessful title match against the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Batista at the major event Royal Rumble 2007.

At WrestleMania 23, Anderson was allowed to win the money-in-the-bank ladder match , which, according to the storyline, guaranteed him a title fight. Another injury of Anderson prevented the WWE planned title fight (this was then contested by Edge ). He joined RAW on June 11, 2007 as part of the WWE Draft . In the following years Anderson was mainly used in the middle fight map for the Intercontinental title . After a program with Shawn Michaels in late 2007 to early 2008, he was again a candidate for one of the organization's highest titles.

On June 23, 2008, Anderson was allowed to switch to the Friday show SmackDown again . On August 4th of that year he injured his shoulder and paused. During this time he took on representative duties for the WWE and promoted his film Behind Enemy Lines .

On April 15, 2009 at the WWE Draft, Anderson switched back to RAW. In May 2009 he worked for the training league FCW on his return to the main squad. He returned to RAW on May 25, 2009. Just days later, on May 29, WWE announced the sacking of Ken Anderson. The decision for this was made after a match against Randy Orton : Anderson performed a back suplex incorrectly, which almost led to a serious injury to Orton.

However, he was able to win the title at Slammiversary IX on June 12, 2011 in Orlando for the second time when he defeated Sting . In the impact records on July 11, 2011, he lost the title back to Sting. Anderson has been a member of the Aces & Eights group since the beginning of 2013 .
