Kenny Poole
Kenny Poole (born October 5, 1947 in Cincinnati , † May 27, 2006 ibid) was an American jazz guitarist .
Poole began learning the guitar at the age of 14 after listening to Chet Atkins ' album Fingerstyle Guitar . From 1966 he worked as a professional studio musician and played with Groove Holmes , Jack McDuff , Mark Murphy , Barney Kessel , Herb Ellis , Jimmy Raney , Mundell Lowe , Tal Farlow , Joe Pass , Howard Alden , Jimmy Bruno , Jack Wilkins , Frank Vincent and Mark Elf . Poole, who last lived in the Cincinnati area , released three albums under his own name, East Meets West (in a duo with Gene Bertoncini ), Su's Four (in a duo with Cal Collins ) and For George , a tribute album for his mentor George Van Eps .
