Beate Gauß (born August 10, 1984 in Ammerbuch ) is a German marksman in the air rifle (LG) and small-bore rifle (KK) classes .

Career

Beate Gauß is a student at the SRH FernHochschule Riedlingen and starts for SV Odenheim , SF Gechingen and in the 1st Bundesliga air rifle for SSVG Brigachtal and is trained by Claus Dieter Roth. The sports soldier belongs to the German B national squad. She won the bronze medal with the air rifle when she first took part in the indoor European championships in Győr . A year later she won the bronze medal with Barbara Engleder and Britta Großecappenberg with the LG team and was tenth in the individual. It was not until 2007 that Gauß took part in the European Championships again and won team gold with Sonja Pfeilschifter and Barbara Engleder in Deauville . In the individual she reached fifth place. At the Universiade in Bangkok in August 2007 she won the air rifle team silver medal with Jessica Kregel and Manuela Felix . In this composition she also won the silver medal in the small- bore three-position battle . In 2008 she was able to defend the team title at the European Championships in Winterthur in the same line-up, in the individual Gauß was 12. At the European Championships in Prague in 2009 she was able to win two medals for the first time: in the individual she was only beaten by Snježana Pejčić , with Martina Rave and Tatjana Poseiner won her bronze in the team. In 2010 she was able to win the team title again with Sonja Pfeilschifter and Jessica Mager in Meråker and was again silver medalist behind Andrea Arsović . In 2010, Gauß also took part in World Championships for the first time in Munich. Gauß became German champion in 2010, the best place in the World Cup so far is second, achieved in 2008 in Rio de Janeiro .

Before the 2012 Olympic Games, Gauß, along with Regina Sergeeva , Christina Schütze , Christin Steuer and Angela Maurer, was among the five athletes who posed naked in the German edition of Playboy .
