Kerstin Vieregge (born September 6, 1976 in Rinteln ) is a German politician ( CDU ) from the Lippe district and member of the Bundestag in the 19th German Bundestag .

Life and work

Vieregge was born in Rinteln in 1976 and grew up on a farm in Extertal - Göstrup , where she still lives today. After attending grammar school in Barntrup , she later switched to the Extertal secondary school, where she graduated from secondary school in 1996 . At the Hanse vocational college in Lemgo , she then graduated from high school. This was followed by training as an industrial clerk at decor metall. At the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Vocational College in Detmold , she graduated as a state-certified business economist . She then worked at the Lippische Landes-Brandversicherungsanstalt, where she trained as an insurance specialist and then as a marketing assistant.

Political career

Kerstin Vieregge joined the Junge Union in 1998 . She has been a member of the CDU since 1999. At the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf she was a research assistant in the Lippe constituency office for ten years . From 2000 to 2011 she was chairwoman of the CDU Extertal community association. From 2011 to 2013 she was deputy district chairwoman of the CDU Lippe, from 2013 to 2018 she was district chairwoman of the CDU Lippe.

Vieregge has been a district council member in Lippe since 2004 and was deputy district administrator from 2011 to 2018 . From 2010 to 2014 she was the chairwoman of the transport committee in the district council and has been the chairwoman of the committee for economy, tourism and rural development since 2014.

In the 2017 federal election , Vieregge was able to secure the direct mandate for the Lippe I constituency , which was the first time that the CDU won it after 1983 (when Klaus Daweke was elected). In the 19th legislative period, Kerstin Vieregge is a full member of the Defense Committee and the Tourism Committee as well as a deputy member of the Committee on Food and Agriculture .

Party affair and resignation

As a result of incorrect travel expense accounts and confirmed "black funds", Kerstin Vieregge had to resign from her post as district chairwoman of the CDU Lippe in January 2018. In this context, it became known that Vieregge was also employed for accounting at the CDU Lippe during her time as chairman, but did not perform this task. Furthermore, many decisions for which the board would have been responsible were made without its knowledge. The facts became known through a dossier of the former district manager of the CDU Lippe, Lennart Hildebrand. The CDU NRW ordered a special test. The new board of the CDU Lippe later agreed with Kerstin Vieregge on subsequent reimbursements "in the middle five-digit range".

Kerstin Vieregge is u. a. Member of the Christian Democratic Workforce (CDA), the Lippe District Security Foundation and the Lippe Health Foundation .
