Klaus Daweke (born May 14, 1943 in Lemgo ; † March 28, 2020 in Detmold ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Daweke worked as a commercial teacher and businessman. From 1970 to 1990 he was a lecturer in economics at the Lippe University of Applied Sciences - in addition to his membership of parliament. After massive allegations of favoritism and sexual coercion of employees, Daweke was released from this position on August 31, 1996 by the board of directors. He himself rejected the allegations and saw himself as the victim of an intrigue by the then IfA CEO Paul Harro Piazolo , who was described as Daweke's sharpest critic. The prosecution closed the investigation in 1997, whereupon Daweke sued (unsuccessfully) for reinstatement.

From 1997 to 2004 he worked in development policy; first in South Africa and then in Mozambique. Since 2004 he has been working part-time as a lecturer at community service schools in Saxony and then in North Rhine-Westphalia.
