The Kervenheimer Mühlenfleuth ( water code number [GWK] : 2868) flows through Kervenheim directly next to the Kervendonk Castle in the center of the village. It is formed a short distance before by the confluence of the Gochfortzley and Großer Ley. Before the Kervenheimer Mühlenfleuth flows into the Niers near the war cemetery near Weeze , it accommodates the Wetterley (origin in Hestert on the border with Sonsbeck ) and the Vorselaer Ley (origin between Schravelner Heide and the holiday village).
Fleuthen and Leyen are characteristic of the landscape at the southwestern foot of the terminal moraine from the Ice Age, which is characterized by Donken and quarry landscapes .
