Kevin Miehm (born October 10, 1969 in Kitchener , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player . He was active in the DEL for the Adler Mannheim and the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , among others .

Career

Kevin Miehm first played as a striker for the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) before he was committed in the NHL Entry Draft in 1987 by the NHL team of the St. Louis Blues in 54th position in the third round.

Since he was initially unable to assert himself in the NHL as desired, the Blues put him in their farm team , the Peoria Rivermen in the International Hockey League (IHL), before he succeeded in the 1992/93 season in the St. Louis Blues. However, his Missouri career was short-lived. Again and again he had to make his way to the IHL to the Peoria Rivermen and therefore only made 24 appearances in the NHL until the 1993/94 season . He scored six points scorer . About the Fort Wayne Komets and the Michigan K-Wings , both teams from the IHL, he came in 1996 to Europe , where he initially for two years in the hockey department of Villach SV , the EC VSV , in the Austrian Hockey League were active , stayed. In the first season he scored a total of 100 points scorer in 45 games, making him one of the most noticeable players in the Carinthian team . In the middle of the 1998/99 season he came to Mannheim and was then after 32 games with Adler Mannheim under coach Lance Nethery German champion . He himself contributed 18 scorer points to the championship. The ice hockey legionnaire played in the following season for two teams, once for VEU Feldkirch from Austria for which he scored 59 points (20 goals) in 25 games and then for the DEL team of the Nürnberg Ice Tigers for which he was then up to the 2000 / 01 scored a total of 12 goals with 56 points scorer in a total of 77 games. In the British Ice Hockey Superleague , he ended his career a year later with the Sheffield Steelers .

Kevin Miehm was considered a very fair player. In 109 games in the DEL he received only 44 penalty minutes and in the NHL only eight penalty minutes.
