Kevin Molino (born June 17, 1990 in Carenage ) is a football player from Trinidad and Tobago . The midfielder has been under contract with Minnesota United in the American Major League Soccer since 2017 .

Career

San Juan Jabloteh and Ma Pau SC

In his youth he played in Trinidad and Tobago with San Juan Jabloteh . There he made his professional debut. In 2009 he moved to Ma Pau SC within the first Tobacco league .

Orlando City (USL)

On March 18, 2011, Molino signed a contract with Orlando City , which was still active in the United Soccer League at the time . He scored his first goal in a competitive game on May 14, 2011, in a 1-0 win over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds .

After two years in the American third division, he had weeks of negotiations with the Dutch first division club PSV Eindhoven and the Belgian club Zulte Waregem . However, all attempts to continue his career in Europe failed. On March 13, 2013, Orlando City announced that Molino had signed for an additional year.

Orlando City SC

After the club's move from the USL to Major League Soccer was accepted in 2013, the newly organized franchise has been playing in the American premier league since 2015. Since Molino signed a new two-year contract with Orlando City on January 10, 2014, despite the strong interests of other MLS teams and other foreign clubs, this made him the first player in the Orlando City MLS squad.

In May 2015, Molino tore his cruciate ligament during a friendly against Ponte Preta and was out for the entire 2015 MLS season . On April 3, 2016, he scored his first goal for Orlando City in the MLS, converting a penalty in a 4-1 win over the Portland Timbers .

Minnesota United

On January 26, 2017, it was announced that Molino will be joining his former coach Adrian Heath , who now coached Minnesota United . Minnesota paid Orlando City a $ 650,000 transfer fee. The transfer fee paid is the record transfer fee of the American league.

On March 11, 2018 (2nd matchday), he tore a cruciate ligament again in the game against his ex-club Orlando City.

National team

After Kevin Molino had played through all the youth national teams of Trinidad and Tobago, he was appointed for the first time in 2010 for the Caribbean championship in the squad of the senior team from Trinidad and Tobago. He played his first game for the national team on November 4, 2010 against Guyana .
