Kevin Schroeder (born in the 20th century ) is a German translator , songwriter and musical writer.

Live and act

Schroeder completed his training in 2003 at the Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama in Hamburg . Among other things, he wrote German lyrics for the musical Crazy for You based on George Gershwin's Girl Crazy or, together with Heiko Wohlgemuth, translated the songs for the musicals Aladdin, Sister Act or Naturally blond, as well as other texts from English-language musical works. He created his own pieces, such as musical interpretations of fairy tales , some of which were premiered at the Brothers Grimm Festival in Hanau. He also worked as a songwriter for the Swiss musical production Dällebach Kari , which is about the city ​​original Karl Tellenbach . As a writer and director he developed concepts for shows on the cruise ships of AIDA Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd .

For the city of Wetzlar he developed a modern musical adaptation of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's novel Die Leiden des Junge Werther , which premiered in 2015 under the title Lotte . As a freelance dramaturge, he was involved in the development of the plays I've never been to New York or Der Schuh des Manitu .

Schroeder is a member of the German Musical Academy and, together with Friederike Harmstorf and Robin Kulisch, founded the “Schreib: maschine”, an open stage for the promotion of composers and musical authors in Germany. He developed some productions together with the musical composer Marc Schubring , for example a play about the Brothers Grimm in 2019 .
