Neuholzkrug ( Danish : Ny Skovkro ) is a place in the municipality of Handewitt .

location

Neuholzkrug joins the larger old wooden mug to the north . The Handewitter Forest is northwest of the village . The Neumünster – Flensburg railway line and the 7 federal motorway run along the eastern edge of the town . A long way to the west of the village are the villages of Hüllerup and Haurup . The road from Altholzkrug leads to a roundabout near Neuholzkrug , from which one road leads in the direction of Weding, another in the direction of Barderup and the last one ends in the federal road 200 . Incidentally, the Margarethenweg has connected Barderup and Neuholzkrug for centuries.

history

On the Flensburg map of Juergensen from 1779, houses from "Holzkrug" were already drawn. Since the middle of the 19th century at the latest, the wooden jug consisted of an old wooden jug (in the north) and a new wooden jug (in the south). In the same century, the north-south railway line was built, which still runs along the old wooden jug and the new wooden jug.

In the course of time, various companies settled at Neuholzkrug, for example the Carstensen forwarding company, which was set up in Neuholzkrug after the Second World War , but later moved to the neighboring industrial area of ​​Altholzkrug. Until 2008 Neuholzkrug belonged to the municipality of Jarplund-Weding , which, however, merged with the municipality of Handewitt that year. Since the beginning of the 2010s, the Otzen family has been hosting the Neuholzkruger Markt on their farm ( Lage ), a popular autumn market with over 60 exhibitors.
