Kevin Wahr (born March 24, 1989 in Nagold ) is a German motorcycle racer .

Career

Beginnings

Kevin Wahr did his first race on a pocket bike in 1995 . From 1995 to 2001 he competed in the German pocket bike championship. Between 2002 and 2005 he was a hobby racing driver. In the 2006 season, Kevin Wahr finished seventh overall in the Yamaha Cup .

International German motorcycle championship

In 2007 he started for the first time in the Supersport class (600  cm³ ) of the International German Motorcycle Championship , which he finished 28th. The following year he achieved eighth place in the overall standings on a Suzuki GSX-R 600 from the Orange-Shark-DMV team . In the 2009 season , Wahr repeated this placement in the IDM Supersport on a Triumph Daytona 675 of the G-LAB Racing team, despite a few falls. In 2009 he made his debut in the Supersport World Championship as a wildcard pilot at the Nürburgring . He finished 14th and received two World Cup points.

In the 2010 season , Kevin Wahr started for his father's Truck-Tec Wahr Racing team on a Yamaha YZF-R6 prepared by Michael Galinski in the Supersport class of the German championship. After he achieved his first victory in the rainy first race of the second event of the season in Motorsport Arena Oschersleben , he was signed for the rest of the season by the Holzhauer Racing Promotion team from Wittenberge , which had previously separated from its driver Meik Kevin Minnerop . Last year Sascha Hommel won the IDM Supersport title at Holzhauer . In the further course of the season, Wahr achieved places in the top three four times on a Honda CBR600RR and finished fourth in the overall standings. The following year he switched to superbikes within the team . At the end of the season he finished 17th. For the 2012 season he switched back to the Supersport class and was able to take fourth place again with his Yamaha. In 2013 he became champion in the IDM Supersport with nine wins, of which he won eight in a row.

World Supersport Championship

At the end of January 2014, Wahr announced that he would be promoted to the Supersport World Championship with a Yamaha R6 and the team Wahr by Kraus Racing . In the first race of the season at Phillip Island , he finished sixth. During the year he achieved two more top ten results. Due to the small budget, Wahr could only take part in seven out of eleven races. Nevertheless, he achieved 16th place in the season's overall standings.

In 2015 , Wahr played his first full season in the Supersport World Championship for the Czech SMS Racing Team on a Honda CBR600RR. The season was marked by a few failures. In the third from last race in the French Magny-Cours , the best result of the season came in sixth. In the following race in Jerez in Spain he achieved another top 10 result in ninth place. True finished the season at 17th place overall.
