Kevin Weeda
Kevin Weeda (born January 1, 1960 in Newport Beach ) is a former American automobile racing driver .
Career in motorsport
Kevin Weeda was active as a motorcycle racer in the USA in the late 1980s . After a year in the Barber Dodge Pro Series in 1990, he did not contest races for a decade. Between 2001 and 2006 he only drove kart races . As a passionate Ferrari driver with good contacts to the racing department , he was allowed to test former Ferrari Formula 1 vehicles for many years as a Ferrari Corse client .
In 2012 and 2013 he was a driver for Team Kolles in the FIA World Endurance Championship for two years . The best result was ninth in the 2012 Bahrain 6 Hours . Partners in the Lola B12 / 80 were Vitantonio Liuzzi and James Rossiter . In 2013 he started for Kolles at the 24 Hours of Le Mans , but retired prematurely after an engine failure on the Lotus T128 .
