Khalifa Kambi

Khalifa Kambi AM also Kalifa Kambi (born May 1955 in Karantaba Tenda ; † 20th December 2011 in Bakau ) was Deputy Minister of Agriculture ( English Deputy Minister of Agriculture ) of the West African country Gambia .

Life

Kambi attended the Primary School from 1962 to 1968 and the Secondary School from 1968 to 1969. 1969–1974 he attended Armitage High School . At the Gambia College , which he attended from 1975 to 1977, he obtained a certificate in general agriculture. In Tanzania, he obtained a diploma in adult education from 1988 to 1990. He obtained his MA in Rural Social Development from the University of London from 1996 to 1997.

He began public service as an agricultural consultant in the North Bank region in 1977 and worked there until 1982. From 1983 to 1987 he was a trainer in the agricultural training department of the Department of Agriculture . From 1992 to 2002 he was employed as director of the Chamen Self-Development and Training Center.

In the legislative period from 2002 to 2007 he was an elected member of the Kiang West District of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the National Assembly . In the re-election in 2007 he lost his seat to the opposition. During his time as a Member of Parliament, he was Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development. At the same time member (2004–2009) of the Pan-African Parliament of the African Union . In the period from March 2004 to January 2007 was on the committee for rural economy, agriculture and natural resources.

23 April 2010 Kambi President was Yahya Jammeh to the Cabinet as Deputy Minister of Agriculture ( English Deputy Minister of Agriculture appointed) and was succeeded by Momodou Seedy Kah going into the diplomatic service.

Kambi died on December 20, 2011 in the Medical Research Council .
