Kids in the Way (abbreviated KITW ) is a Christian alternative rock band from Noblesville , Indiana . The band was founded in 1997 under the name Serenity and broke up in the summer of 2007. In 2009 the band re-founded. They are currently on the "Back in the Game Tour" in Germany. As musical influences they name Thrice , AFI , Mew , Bush , M83 , Sigur Rós , Brand New and AC / DC .

history

In 1997 the singer David Pelsue, the guitarist Nathan Ehman and the drummer Eric Carter formed the band. When they were still known under the name Serenity, they played much softer rock than after the name change.

As Kids in the Way they released the Self Titled EP , the success of which allowed them to release more recordings and play some shows with Audio Adrenaline . This was particularly important for the conclusion of the contract with Flicker Records . After the successful release of their first album Safe from the Losing Fight they came with bigger bands like Fireflight , Pillar and Relient K on.

In 2007 the band broke up for unknown reasons and even canceled an already started tour with them as headliners , but the reunification followed in 2009. They then played a few shows in their home state of Indiana.

On January 12, 2010, the band announced that they were working on an as yet unnamed EP , which should be released in March.
