Kilada ( Greek Κοιλάδα ( f. Sg. )) Is a local community in the municipality of Ermionida and is located on the Argolic Gulf , about four kilometers northwest of Kranidi in Greece . In addition to the name-giving fishing village, the hamlets of Doroufi (28 inhabitants) and Kambos (56 inhabitants) as well as the uninhabited island of Koronida belong to the local community. The place is known for the Franchthi Cave, which is located on the opposite side of the bay and can be reached by boat from Kilada.

The place has many taverns , five grocery stores and many other shops, a pharmacy, a supermarket on the route to Kranidi, a shipyard where ships are still built in the traditional way, and a boat place with slipway and crane as well as work opportunities on the boat and an accessory store.

The privately owned island of Koronida (Κορωνίδα) separates the Bay of Kilada from the rest of the Argolic Gulf, which means that the bay is extremely quiet and well protected, making it an ideal anchorage. Free berths on the quay, however, are rarely available during the season .

It is believed that the place Mases mentioned in the Iliad was located here. The army of Mases went into the Trojan War under the leadership of Diomedes .
