Kim Engelbrecht

Kim Engelbrecht (* 20th June 1980 in Cape Town as Kim Suzanne Engelbrecht ) is a South African actress .

Career

Kim Engelbrecht was born in Cape Town in 1980. She made her acting debut in the Italian family film Sarahsara in 1994. In it she played the lead role of the twelve-year-old Sarah from Sudan who swam from the island of Capri to Naples . The director of this work was Renzo Martinelli , who made his directorial debut with it. Engelbrecht was recognized for her performance with a nomination at the Italian Golden Globes in the category of Best Actress .

In 1998 she played the role of Lolly van Onselen in the South African soap opera Isidingo . In 2004 she embodied the character Nancy in the Oliver Twist- based film Boy Called Twist . Engelbrecht received the supporting role Mickey in the drama The Flyer , which came out in 2005. In the comedy film Bunny Chow she got the lead role Kim . The film was presented at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2006 before opening at other film festivals. In 2012 she appeared as Leona in the TV series Rugby Motors .

She also appeared as Kelly in the action film Death Race: Inferno alongside Luke Goss , Ving Rhames , Danny Trejo , Tanit Phoenix and other South African actors. The film was released in 2012 as a direct-to-DVD production .
