Kim Hyung-wook (born January 16, 1925 in Sinch'ŏn -gun, Korea ; † October 8, 1979 in a poultry factory four kilometers northwest of Paris , France ) was a South Korean member of parliament.
Life
Kim Hyung-wook went to the military academy with Park Chung-hee and took part in the coup in May 1961 with him . In the Democratic Republican Party (DRP), founded in 1963, Kim Hyung-wook was involved in political fundraising alongside Chang Ki-young, Kim Sung-kon and Lee Hu-rak . General Kim Hyung-wook headed the Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA) from 1963 to 1969 . In 1967 the Korean Central Intelligence Agency in the Federal Republic of Germany performed an extraordinary rendition on 17 Koreans . After some of the abductees were sentenced to death and executed, Foreign Minister Willy Brandt called Ambassador Franz Ferring to Bonn for advice . In 1970 Kim Hyung-wook became a Member of Parliament in Gukhoe . In 1973 Kim Hyung-wook left for the USA . On June 22, 1977, Kim Hyung-wook appeared as a witness in a public hearing on the Koreagate before the US Congress and was questioned for several hours. Kim Hyung-wook also addressed the role of the Unification Church in his replies . He said that Moon Sun-myung and Pak Bo-hi were on the payroll of the intelligence agency he previously ran. Kim Hyung-wook wrote his memoirs and sold a copy to Park Chung-hee, who believed he had acquired the copyrights . Kim Hyung-wook had his memoirs published in Japan. Possibly as a result of the copyright dispute, Kim Hyung-wook was kidnapped from Paris and processed into chicken feed in a bone mill .
