Kim Jesper Jørgensen

Kim Jesper Jørgensen (born August 14, 1962 in Frederikshavn ) is a Danish major general and commander of the Arktisk Command .

Life

From 1980 to 1983 Jørgensen served as a volunteer at Hjemmeværnet . In 1981 he passed his Abitur at Frederikshavn Gymnasium . 1982 to 1983 he received the basic technical and scientific training at Aalborg University . 1984 to 1988 Jørgensen attended the Flyvevåbnets Officersskole and graduated as Prime Lieutenant . In 1993 he became captain in 1996 Major 2001 Lieutenant Colonel and 2008 Colonel . In the same year he was department head in the Ministry of Defense for planning and operations matters. In 2010 he took part in Forsvarschef Knud Bartels ' security policy course . From 2014 to 2016 he was head of the Arctic project organization in the Ministry of Defense.

On February 15, 2016 Jørgensen was appointed major general and took over Arktisk command at the same time . He was the successor to Stig Østergaard Nielsen , the first commander in command.

He is married and has two sons.
