Kim Kuk-hyang (born April 4, 1999 ) is a North Korean water diver who competes in individual and synchronized jumping from the 10-meter tower.

Career

Kim Kuk-hyang took part in the World Championships for the first time in 2015 at the age of 16 , where she first took fourth place in mixed synchronized jumping from the tower together with Hyon Il-myong on her debut . A few days later she won gold from the 10-meter tower in her first individual start at a major event and prevailed against Ren Qian and Pandelela Rinong Pamg . For her final jump she received the highest score of 10.0 from two judges. The victory was the first gold medal for North Korea at the swimming world championships in history and also meant that Kim Kuk-hyang qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
