The children's farm of the city of Neuss is a project created in 1978 in Selikum Park in the Reuschenberger Busch recreation area in Neuss - Selikum . The city of Neuss is responsible for this. In addition, the Friends and Patrons of the Neuss-Selikum Children's Farm has been in existence since 2003 , registered in the register of associations of the Neuss District Court (VR 2151).

In 1968 the city of Neuss had the first plans for an adventure farm. The property chosen was the Königshof on Aurinstrasse, which had been in the hands of the city of Neuss since 1912. At the same time, the city also acquired Reuschenberg Castle , the associated Cornelius Chapel , the Selikum estate just opposite and the Gnadental estate.

The farm complex includes a farmhouse, barn, stable, hayloft and servants' rooms. In the barn there are farm, laundry and feed kitchen . The nature conservation center provides information about the habitats of plants and animals. The permanent exhibition "Horse and Cart" shows toys from the 19th century. The animals presented include chickens ( German Langschan ), ducks ( crested duck ), geese ( curly goose ), goats ( Thuringian forest goat , white German noble goat , Toggenburg goat ), sheep ( Coburg fox sheep , white horned heather , East Prussian skudde ), horses ( Haflinger) ), Pigs ( woolly pigs ) and bees . For property, including a circular route , a landscape trail and an orchard . Much emphasis is placed on educational programs. There are an average of two courses per day. A water laboratory was set up on a branch of the Erft in 2015.

The farm is open all year round; admission free of charge. Over 100,000 visitors are recorded annually.

The children's farm is a sub-project of Euroga 2002, a decentralized state horticultural show .
