As a 15-year-old, Gawlas made her debut in the World Cup on December 18, 2004 in the opening race of the 2004/2005 season in Longiarü . She finished the race in twelfth position. She came to her next World Cup appearance at the end of the winter at the season finale in Olang , where she finished eleventh and thus finished 19th in the overall World Cup. At the European Junior Championships in 2005 in Kandalakscha , she achieved only the 16th and last place after a mistake in the third run.
From the 2005/2006 season , Gawlas started in all World Cup races. After she had not finished in the top ten in the first three races, she achieved a ninth and two tenth places in the last three races, making her ninth place in the overall World Cup as the best Polish woman. In the next winter , she even finished in the top ten in all six World Cup races and achieved sixth place as the best result in the fifth race in Moos in Passeier . Nevertheless, she could not improve in the overall World Cup and again achieved ninth place overall as the best Polish woman. At the 2006 European Championships in Umhausen , Gawlas finished 13th and three weeks later she was seventh at the 2006 Junior World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . At the 2007 World Championships in Grande Prairie , Kinga finished seventh and thus achieved the best result ever for a Polish woman at natural track tobogganing world championships. She also started in the team competition, where she finished fifth together with Adam Jędrzejko , Andrzej Laszczak and Damian Waniczek . A week later, the then 17-year-old won the bronze medal at the 2007 European Junior Championships in St. Sebastian behind the Austrian Melanie Batkowski and the Italian Tamara Schwarz . In addition, she became Polish Champion in 2006 and 2007 .
In the first four World Cup races of the 2007/2008 season , Gawlas was again among the top ten and repeated her best result to date with sixth place in Latsch . However, this race was her last, because the Polish woman had a hard crash in training for the 2008 Junior World Championship in Laces. She broke her leg and didn't take part in any competitions.
