biography

Private

Marlon Plunkett was born in St. Catherine Parish and has two brothers. He grew up in Kingston’s Olympic Gardens , also known as the Waterhouse . As a teenager, he attended Ardenne High School in the New Kingston neighborhood . However, he had to break off his studies for financial reasons. Later lived Plunkett for two years in England around there Jura study. Even when he was at school, writing poetry was one of his favorite occupations. This made it easy for him to write songs, which he started as a teenager, according to his own statements.

Career

Kiprich started working as a deejay on various sound systems at an early age. His real career began in 1998 at Freddy McGregor Studios in Kingston. Through his acquaintance with the Jamaican Deejay Chico, he had the opportunity to witness the recording of a new single by the Jamaican Tony Matterhorn . When the sound engineer there heard Plunkett's voice, he was so excited that they both exchanged their phone numbers. Some time later, Kiprich was invited to the studio to listen to a few riddims. This resulted in his first single called "Leggo di bwoy" which was released in 1999 as a dubplate on a white label . He originally had this song for his first appearance in the extreme , a so-called dancehall, in Portmore . Due to the great success, Kiprich began to release more singles on various labels in the same year. Then the US label VP Records became aware of him. In collaboration with the Jamaican Deejay Lexxus, also known under the name of Mr. Lexx, the single "Bugging Me" and a solo single were released on the label in 1999 . He then continued to work with Lexxus often and brought out various singles and duplicates with him. Two singles were also released on the well-known reggae label Greensleeves Records that same year. In the following year, Kiprich released songs on various labels. In 2001 Kiprich began working with the well-known Deejay Elephant Man and went on his Dancehall Spectrum tour with him . After he only released one single that year, numerous singles appeared again on various labels over the years. In 2003 Kiprich sang together with the German Deejay Nosliw , the band Seeed and various Jamaican artists such as B. Elephant Man and Ward 21 the Electric Boogie Riddim of the Leipzig music producer Pionear . His song "We Nah Go Run" was released on the German reggae label Germaican Records . In 2005, Kiprich released his first album called "Outta Road" on VP Records . In 2008 the second album "Drama King" was released on the Big Yard label . In 2009, Kiprich was named The Jamaican Star's Star of the Month . He has written songs for many artists, including the hit single "Higher Level" by the deejay Elephant Man and various songs by the Jamaican deejay Bounty Killer .
