Massive B is an American independent label based in New York City that specializes in dancehall music.

history

Massive B was founded in 1990 by the US-American radio legend Bobby condor , as a partner of the New York label House - label Nu Groove Records founded and should specifically turn to at that time still young dancehall music. The name comes from the sound system of the same name, still operated by Kondors . The first release on the label was a compilation called "New York Rude Boys" , which, contrary to what the title suggested, only contained songs by Jamaican artists. The album was released in 1990 and had no label code yet. The first release with a number was the single "Wake Up People / Get Down" by the Jamaican artist Nick Jones Experience in collaboration with Kaleem Shabazz . It was numbered MB-001 . Massive B has mostly released songs by Jamaican musicians. Exceptions are the Canadian rapper Snow and the American dance hall singer Collie Buddz .
