Kira Weidle at the World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (2017)
Kira Weidle skied for the first time at the age of two and won the German Junior Championships in Downhill and Super-G in 2015. In addition, she won the downhill classification in the European Cup in the 2015/2016 season . She contested her first race in the World Cup on January 9, 2016 in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee . At the 64th Kandahar race as part of the Alpine Ski World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she finished 17th in the Super-G on January 22nd, 2017, making her the best-placed German racer in this race. In 2017 it also competed for the first time at the Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Moritz , Switzerland . Weidle won the bronze medal in the downhill at the 2017 Junior World Championship in Åre .
In 2018, Weidle was able to establish itself with two top 10 results in the World Cup. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she finished 11th in the downhill. She achieved her first World Cup podium on November 30, 2018 as third on the Lake Louise descent . Another third place followed on January 27, 2019 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
