The Church of the Holy Trinity ( Romanian Biserica romano-catolică “Preasfânta Treime” ) is a Roman Catholic church in the Ronaț district of the 5th district of Mehala in the western Romanian city of Timișoara .
history
The Church of the Holy Trinity belongs to the parish of St. Mary's Church in Mehala and is located in the Ronaț railroad workers' colony, which was built before the First World War . In the summer of 1943 it was badly damaged during the two Anglo-American bombing raids on Timișoara Nord station .
The first attempt at rebuilding was made in 1946, but under communist rule the project had to be discontinued for financial reasons due to the political and economic situation. Although the Ronațer parish was attached to the parish of Mehala, the Salvatorian Father Johannes Blum later obtained approval for the rebuilding of the small church, which was then also achieved with the help of the Catholic railway workers from the Ronaț and Caritas .
In December 1964 the small church was consecrated by the then Ordinarius of the Timișoara Diocese, Konrad Kernweisz . In the 1980s the church was painted by the artist Paul Veres, who grew up in Ronaț .
The Holy Mass is held in Hungarian, Romanian and German.
