The small towerless Romanesque church of Tved is located on Knebel Bay , Knebel Vig , in the moraine landscape of Mols Bjerge on the Mols peninsula , which in turn is part of the Djursland peninsula that forms the eastern part of Jutland in Denmark . The church belongs to the parish of Tved .

In the apse and the choir are murals to see, representing the Adoration of the Magi and Christ enthroned. A medieval crucifix hangs on the north wall . The church has a Romanesque baptismal font and several paintings from the Renaissance . The towerless Gothic church with the typical stepped gables is surrounded by a cemetery.

In 1940–45 the church was restored. While the new floor was being laid, they came across an old crypt that was used for the funerals of the Sandberg family.

Legend

The legend tells that it should actually be between Tved and Dejret. Ultimately, it was decided to find a new place for the church, as a troll tore down the shell every night. Two head of cattle were allowed to decide on the location. These were tied together, and where they grazed the next morning, the country church was built .
