Knebel is a small town on the Danish Djursland peninsula in the Mols region with 587 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). Knebel is the seat of the parish Knebel Sogn . Immediately to the west is the Knebel Vig , an almost completely closed side bay of the Kalø Vig , about a kilometer southeast is Knebel Bro , the port of Knebel. The Mols Bjerge are to the east of Knebel . To the north is the next town Vrinners .
Before 1970, Knebel Sogn and Rolsø formed the rural municipality of Knebel-Rolsø . This went up in 1970 in the course of the administrative reform in the Ebeltoft municipality , which in turn went up in 2007 in the Syddjurs municipality .
In the southern part of the village is the Knebel Church , a Romanesque building from around 1175 with a small roof turret and a surrounding cemetery. About one kilometer east on the road to Agri is the poskær stenhus .
In Knebel there is also a school, a kindergarten as well as some doctors and shops. The daisies route leads through Knebel .
