The Ev.-luth. Church district Soltau (formerly Bergen-Soltau Church District ) is a church district in Lower Saxony with its seat in Soltau . It belongs to the Lüneburg district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover . For Kirchenkreis Soltau are currently (2019) 11 parishes with about 41,000 church members; In 2005 there were around 60,000. There are 17 churches and chapels in the area of the church district Soltau, including churches from the 14th century to new churches from the 20th century. The St. Stephen parish in Munster is the only purely military parish Germany.

The church district of Soltau is located in the middle of Lower Saxony and extends over the area of the former district of Soltau with the exception of the communities of Schneverdingen and Neuenkirchen as well as the northern part of the district of Celle .
The area of the church district is rural and is located in a preferred tourist region. Hills, forests and rivers are typical of the landscape.
