The kkStB 43 series of steam locomotives was a series of freight trains with a tender of the kkStB , which originally came from the KFNB . From this it was acquired for the operation of the Montanbahn Mährisch Ostrau - Dombrau .

The four locomotives were delivered by the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik in 1863 . The KFNB gave them the series designation Vd and the numbers 283-286 . In addition, all of the machines were given names: "MÄHRISCH OSTRAU", "WITKOWITZ", "JAKLOWETZ" and "BURNIA". They were used in conjunction with A- series tenders .

All machines came to the kkStB and there formed the 43 series .

Since the locomotives were soon too weak for the heavy coal trains, they were transferred to Vienna North and used in shunting. The 43.01 was retired in 1913 .

After the First World War , the three remaining locomotives of class 43 came to ČSD as class 312.5 and were used in Prerau . The ČSD withdrew these machines from their stock in 1925 .
