Live and act

Klaus-Dieter Fröhlich, the son of a bookseller, began to study theater studies , German and psychology before joining television in the early 1960s (role in the film Nur eine Karaffe , 1962). He quickly made a name for himself as a director of television shows, comedy and music programs since the mid-1970s. In addition, Fröhlich published several books (Engel in Weiß, The Second Testament, Yes uff first - Winnetou among comedy vultures, The Wusel of Venus) and photo novels .

In these segments he worked for a good two decades with German show greats such as Otto Waalkes (the Otto shows from 1974 to 1977), Frank Elstner ( nose ahead ) , Jürgen von der Lippe ( Donnerlippchen - games without guarantee , Lippe's laugh mix) , Frank Zander ( Record kitchen , Sender Frikadelle ) , Peter Kraus ( Hello Peter ), Reinhard Mey and the Bläck Fööss (several music videos and the show Barfuß in Cologne ) together. Excursions to direct regular television ( stories from home ) or movies (two episodes of the 6-episode comedy Starke Zeiten ) remained the exception. After directing the 45-minute entertainment show series Wat is? With Jürgen von der Lippe, Fröhlich largely disappeared from the public eye and devoted himself more and more to writing.

Fröhlich died in 2019 at the age of 79.
