Klaus-Jürgen Hedrich (born December 21, 1941 in Stettin ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

From 1994 to 1998 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development .

Life and work

After graduating from the Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium in Uelzen , Hedrich studied theology and English at the University of Göttingen , which he completed in 1969 with the first state examination and in 1971 with the second state examination for a higher teaching post. Then he was a teacher at the Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium Uelzen until 1974 .

Klaus-Jürgen Hedrich is married and has three children.

Political party

In 1961 he became a member of the Junge Union and the CDU. He was initially involved in the JU and was deputy JU regional chairman in Hanover from 1963 to 1967 .

From 1970 to 1981 Hedrich was chairman of the CDU district association Uelzen and from 1981 to 1991 of the CDU district association Lüneburg . From 1978 to 1990 he was also a member of the CDU state executive committee of Lower Saxony .

From 1974 to 1983 Hedrich was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

From 1983 to 2005 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1998 to 2002 he was development policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group and from 2003 to 2005 chairman of the German- ASEAN parliamentary group.

Hedrich is at the federal elections in 1998 and 2002 on the national list and before that always Lower Saxony as directly selected delegates of the constituency Celle - Uelzen in the Bundestag drawn in.

Public offices

On November 17, 1994 Hedrich was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in the Federal Government led by Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl .
