Klaus-Peter Puls (born January 13, 1943 in Reinbek ) is a German politician (formerly SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from the Sachsenwald School in Reinbek in 1962 , Puls completed a degree in economics and law at the University of Hamburg , which he completed with a degree in economics and the first state examination in law. After completing his legal clerkship , he also passed the second state examination and then worked as a lawyer and notary in Reinbek until 2004 . Klaus-Peter Puls is married.

Political party

Puls joined the SPD in 1969. From 2006 to January 2012 he was chairman of the SPD local association in Reinbek. Because of a non-uniform vote by the Reinbek SPD city council on the question of a new building for the Reinbek volunteer fire brigade, Puls resigned all political offices and his mandate in the Reinbeck city ​​council in January 2012 . On March 25, 2013, Puls and his wife announced they were leaving the SPD.

From 1974 to 1997 and from 2008 to January 2012 and again since May 2013, he is a member of the Reinbek city council.

From 1992 to 2009, Puls was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament . From 1997 to 2000 he was chairman of the special committee “constitutional reform” , from 1998 to 2000 deputy chairman of the home and legal committee and from 2000 to 2001 chairman of the inquiry commission “financial relations between the state and municipalities as well as between municipalities” . From 1996 to 2009, Puls was the domestic and legal policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.

Klaus-Peter Puls always entered the state parliament as a directly elected member of the Reinbek constituency . In the 2005 state elections , he received 44.0% of the first votes . Martin Habersaat ran as his successor in the constituency, but he was subject to the CDU candidate and could only enter the state parliament via the list.

In the local elections on May 26, 2013 , after leaving the SPD, he ran as a non-party individual applicant in Reinbeck's electoral district 13, received the most votes of all applicants in this district with 23.0% and again entered the city council.

Public offices

From 1986 to 1994, Puls was the deputy mayor of Reinbek. From 2008 to January 2012 he was deputy mayor in Reinbek.

Honors

In 1990, Klaus-Peter Puls received the Freiherr-vom-Stein commemorative medal from the state of Schleswig-Holstein for special services in local politics.
